What is an RCI Cell? The RCI Cell is the part in your air purifier which helps eliminate viruses and bacteria in your house.
How does the RCI cell work? The RCI cell has a honeycomb surface which is painted with special oxidation paint. Behind the honeycomb surface, a powerful UV light bulb is installed. When the UV light bulb is on, it shines with blue light and makes the paint on the honeycomb surface go through the process of oxidization. This process breaks down the molecular structure and neutralizes viruses and bacteria, destroying the odor producing pollutants in the air that travel through the air purifier. In turn, clean air gets distributed back into your home environment.
